The story of the farm
“Whenever I need peace, I find it here…”
My name is Martin, and since 2016 I’ve been lovingly taking care of Farma Mračov – an old homestead in the tiny hamlet of Mračov near Blatná, which I bought that year.
I was searching for a place that would be the opposite of corporate life — airports, meetings, and crowds. The longing for peace, silence, and simple living became so strong that I knew I had to change something. But finding such a place wasn’t easy. And just when I was about to give up, the farm found me.
When you visit, you might understand what drew me here, what I see — and more importantly, what I feel.
And maybe you’ll agree: this place has a soul.
It soon became clear that the farm needed more than a few repairs — a full renovation was required. I moved in and began working with local craftsmen and suppliers.
Thanks to the sensitive guidance of designer Zlata Voborská from Písek, Farma Mračov now blends modern elements with the original spirit of the old farmhouse.
But doing everything alone simply wasn’t sustainable. I realized I couldn’t renovate, repay loans, and run the farm all at once.
So in 2021, I invited my brother Michal to join me.
I bring the vision and ideas — he keeps us on course. He’s great at planning, organizing, and making things happen.
Together, we gave Mračov Farm a clear direction — one that reflects our own life journey and that we now want to share with others.

We opened Mračov Farm to the public in 2022, and we truly look forward to every new visit.
We hope that everyone who comes here and spends even a little time leaves with a sense of calm, recharged with positive energy, and enriched by an experience or new inspiration.
